Activities

In the heart of the Auvergne mountains, Estaou Treillo is a base for discovering the Velay in summer and winter, around Saint-Victor and Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille — then the tourist-office and partner links below.

Stay ideas

Guides: Stevenson Trail, winter in the Velay, Le Puy-en-Velay.

Walking and the Stevenson trail

The sucs and the plateau suit day walks, without aiming at a feat. Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille is the historic start of Robert Louis Stevenson’s journey, now the GR 70. The path is said to be about 500 m from the cottages [TO VALIDATE]. Maps and routes: Mézenc Loire Meygal tourist office, below.

Snow: Les Estables, Mézenc, Meygal

In winter the massif is suited to downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The cards below lead to the Mézenc ski area and the Meygal nordic area. Les Estables is part of this snow basin [TO VALIDATE] — travel time from Saint-Victor: about 20 min [TO VALIDATE]. LUGIK webcam at the bottom of the page (after cookie consent).

Sucs and volcanoes

The Meygal and its volcanic sucs shape the view from the hamlet: pointed mountains, remnants of old volcanic activity. A “volcanic emotions” day is planned with the Mézenc Loire Meygal tourist office. Walks remain accessible if you respect mid-mountain weather.

Summer: cycling, riding, fishing

In the fine season: cycling (Bike Mézenc), riding trails and fishing in Haute-Loire. The Respirando outdoor station of Mézenc Loire Meygal gathers part of the département’s outdoor offer [TO VALIDATE] — the Respirando label is not claimed for the cottages until confirmed.
